The ESP Psychic Fair Experience — Continued

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

As I was standing in line waiting for a “free reading” since I a) was in no position to purchase a paid reading, b) wanted to see what a free reading was all about (experience). I was asked which psychics at the fair I thought were the best and out of about 25 or so psychics, including two *public and well known* psychics (whom I didn’t resonate with at all) I only felt that less than a handful were “the real deal”.

Three psychics stood out as the “best psychics” at the fair and I explain why.

1. Claire Shoniker Brickus When I saw her she had her eyes closed and she was divining. Her energy was pure and she’s doing this for the right reason. Hopefully she will be at the next Expo as I would like to see her.

2. Asian lady (Jennifer 416 -694-5333) Offering positive and genunine insights and guidance. It wasn’t what the sitter wanted to hear but it’s what she “needed” to hear. The real deal psychics do NOT pander to clients.

“I was born in Rangoon, Burma into a Chinese family. I am a practising Buddhist and since birth been gifted with a special energy from the Universe. I can see, sense, and hear things.

I believe in the past life and reincarnation. I know deep down that somehow, somewhere there is a Universal force that guides us. Things do not happen by coincidence.

My arrival in Canada was a miracle. Strangers extended helping hands. My American mother gave me unconditional love and never asked for anything in return.

I want to repay her love by helping other people and in my humble capacity, to guide them. If I can show a little seed of love in whomever I contact I will be extrememly grateful to have an opportunity to serve and to awake in them their higher self to achieve whatever their free will may choose.

I am just a servant of God and the energy of the Universe. I will do my best to provide guidance for human spiritual growth. I am sincerely here to help. I respect each person’s integrity. I am never here to judge.

If you decide to choose me and to have discussions with me, I will be deeply honoured.
May you all find inner peace.
May your soul guide you to a higher self.
May God bless you all.

P.S. A portion of your fee will be donated to: 1. Doctors Without Borders and 2. The Toronto Aids Society.”

She was charging $20 for a reading and I didn’t even read this until this very moment. I just “knew” she was good and coming from a higher place!

3. Pickering lady (Laura or Julia) Karmic Crystals & Sunshine Glass karmiccrystals@yahoo.ca 416-208-4642 Undercharging and purely honest. How refreshing.

She/they just had a good presence. I bought crystals from them at 50% off regular prices (could charge more and I told hem that but I’m happy they charged less so I could afford to buy them) and a chakra gem bag with charts (something I focusing on lately)
I wish they had a Web site. Maybe I will find enough time to scan their wonderful brochure.

Of course, the answer to: “who are the best psychics here”, should have been, “well, me!”. 😉

So what makes the “real deal”? Charging a fair price for the services rendered. In fact, all three ladies were charging between $20 and 35 for their readings.

Whereas some were charging a lot more and were not interested in telling me how long the reading would last. So $50 could get me 5 minutes or 30, who would know?

Why does it matter that they are charging a fair price? Because their first consideration is helping as many people as possible. It isn’t about the dollar but about making a living helping people, quality service and goods, and making the fee affordable to most people. In fact, great psychics will give “free readings” to people who demonstrate need; however, we can tell apart those that can afford and don’t want to pay against those who can’t afford and do want to pay.

Yes, I was doing a little research. *wink*

Definition: Cold Reading

Cold reading is the technique of using body clues and other things to read a person. In my books, it’s unethical to let that affect a psychic Tarot reading. Integrity compels me to “disclose” anything I’m picking up from this method.

I’m actually a good cold reader but I purposefully *scramble* this ability when giving readings. I would rather the person tell me directly whether they agree or disagree with a statement I’m making then checking out their body cues.

However, some body language is difficult to ignore, such as crossed arms indicating distrust and/or dislike. Trivia: If someone is doing this, mimic them and then will start to relax. The hard part is doing this when you are not a naturally distrusting person and that you have no feelings for the other person either way OR when you want the other person to actually like you.

Things cold readers can see in your body: posture, eye movements, behaviours, and body movements. Cold readers can also get an idea about a person through the clothes they are wearing, colour choices, hair styles, fit of clothing, speech patterns, etc. etc..

Some sitters might be getting a reading from a *cold reader*. Like I said before, I can read cold quite well but I think it’s unethical to let that cloud anything I say to a person. If I do say something that I figured out through cold reading, I might say something like, “but anyone could see that” or “it’s obvious to me that…”.

In fact, cold reading is nothing more than being “observant” and “slowing down time” to see the fine details that so many normal folk miss. 🙂

Article on cold reading by James Randi

Though I’m skeptical of Sylvia Browne’s ability, I must agree and say that if an energy is blocking my reading, it won’t be really good. That’s because my readings need to be free from me worrying about fear and error. I think this makes logical and rational sense really.

If I’m focused on all the “blockages”, then I certainly won’t be able to get through. My psychic ability is clairsentient and telepathic so energy (calm, quiet, and honest) is a really big thing for me. If it isn’t there, I won’t be able to divine much of anything. Then again, I’m here to help more than anything and if divination is the vehicle, so be it!

NLP: Eye Access Cues and Movements, Myth and Reality

At the psychic fair I was asked by a couple of strangers who were the best psychics at the fair and really I was stumped. There were public personalities and such but most didn’t stand out. Finally as I pressed myself to remember who *did* stand out it was the psychics who charged less ($20-35). But I will talk about that in another post.

Anyway, it got me thinking of “cold reading” techniques, one of which is Eye Access Cues or Clues 😉

When doing a reading I sometimes catch myself either looking straight into the eyes of the sitter (unless I’m reading the cards) or look up to the sky or up and to my left while looking up to the sky.

It’s been said that liars tend to look down and to their right when they are making things up but it depends on what’s going on as to why they would be doing that.

http://www.xanatos.com/fsc/eyeaccess.html
Calibration is essential in the use of eye-accessing cues. There is a rule-of-thumb that states that about 80% of us will look up and right to construct an internal image, up and left to remember an image or scene, down and to the left when we talk to ourselves in our heads, down and to the right when we are engrossed in a feeling. We also tend to look laterally to our left when we remember a sound, like a song from our earlier years, and laterally to our right when we imagine what something might sound like. BUT!!! This is only a way of introducing eye-access patterns. EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN PARTICULAR set of accessing cues!!! If you rely on a rule-of-thumb, you’ll be significantly wrong a significant number of times, usually when it matters most!. Calibrate to someone first by asking them questions that presuppose a certain type of internal representation. Then, when they’re talking about something that matters, you’ll know how they’re representing that material to themselves internally, and it will give you a more respectful way of communicating with them, by meeting them at their model of the world. Eye accessing cues are also very important in Strategy Elicitation. Read more about Eye Accessing Cues in the book “Frogs into Princes”.

so that’s…

up and to the left — remembering — visual recall
left lateral — sounds — auditory recall
down and to the left — talking to ourselves — Kinesthetic recall

up and to the right — constructing or re-constructing an internal image — visual construct
right lateral — imaging what something might sound — auditory construct
down and to the right — feeling — Kinesthetic construct

Why does any of this matter? Because it might be a way to tell if the psychic is making things up or is actually accessing the akashic records or their memories of your memories or even the meanings of what they see. Just a thought…

Movie: What the Bleep Do We Know!?

Sunday, October 23rd, 2005

Finally saw, “What the Bleep Do We Know!?”

It’s about the non-reality of our reality. It’s about metaphysics and quantum mechanics. It explains, in part and abstractly, why psychic phenomena occurs — especially telepathy and other ESP.

J Z Night (a channel for Ramtha) was speaking about the topic as well men and one woman of science. I knew she was a psychic and looked familiar. She also looks like Zsa Zsa Gabor a bit! 🙂 Then again, J Z’s life path is a 3!

In her favour her numerological chart does indicate that a warrior — Ramtha — would love to channel through her, she is quite spiritual over many lifetimes, and is enigmatic. So are far as numerology goes, it seems that she is speaking the truth.

But I’m still skeptical of channelling but that’s only because I haven’t experienced it yet! haha I’m like one of those skeptics. I need to recreate it for myself in order to believe it. Thankfully most of the people who sit with me are not as skeptical a personality as I.

One day I hope the scientific aspect is explained well enough for me NOT to have to experience it OR maybe one day I will experience it. But I suspect if I don’t lose the fear of something like that occuring to me, it won’t happen. It seems like the mind protects itself quite nicely from “bad things” happening. So why do bad things happen then? Because you want them too. Think about it. What do you get out of the “bad thing” that happens?

Your mind protects you from what you don’t want to experience.

Now going back to J Z Knight, in the The Skeptic’s Dictionary it says, “She must have hypnotic powers.” I do belive she does and now I wonder. I have long thought that people who channel are using hypnotisim in some way. How that works, I’m not sure.

I did practice hypnotism for some time but only on myself, not on others. It does bring about an incredible sense of relaxation. My thought is that the more relaxed the person is, the more I’m able to pull out from their mind what I need to tell them (telepathy, other’s might use clairvoyance). If the person is blocked (a skeptic, another psychic testing me, or the person is not relaxed/comfortable), the readings are usually very bad.

I do believe that individuals can see their past lives as well as their future but they have too much going on to actually see it. That isn’t a strange concept to me. When I was a corporate zombie I was focused on work, money, having fun, and breaking that glass ceiling. I wasn’t interested in much else. When your mind is polluted with the thoughts of other people (how you are expected to act, what you are expected to do, etc..) and you *don’t* know it, how are you supposed to be able to focus on yourself?

All-in-all I do have a dreamer’s personality too. One which is filled with possibilities and can wax over Atlantis and Lemuria as civilizations that *did* exist, even if their is no traditional scientific proof. In fact, I would say that the highly descriptive account from Edward Cayce and other’s is proof enough for me that it *did* exist.

Finally lets just say that I’m just picking up on your thoughts and there is no real mumbo jumbo going on, is that so bad? This is the question I have asked myself as integrity is a very important concept to me. I say it is (or I wouldn’t be doing this)! Why? Because of many reasons, few of which contain the following: when I tell you what you already know to be true for yourself, when someone else tells you this, you are more inclined to actually *act* on the information — to do something with it; I’m bringing out the most important aspects from your mind that *you* want to see but are having a hard time doing so because of all the other clutter (perhaps corporate); talk isn’t cheap — having the chance to talk about your issues with someone who is objective and is focusing on you and what is really happening to you, is almost priceless.

As for the Tarot cards… synchronicity combined with telepathy goes a long way in making the cards a positive, productive, and meaningful experience.

So there you have it…
