Used Tarot & Oracle Cards — Empaths and Clairsentients

Saturday, March 11th, 2006

I have started buying some things from eBay — including Tarot & oracle cards — and I noticed that the energy from these things (especially the cards) are very strong. Which is why I no longer allow seekers to handle the cards but if I do I have a “special set” that is for seekers handling only!! In other words, I won’t rely on them for my regular work but if someone wants or needs to touch the cards — those ones come out to play!

I suggest NOT to buy Tarot or oracle cards, if they are used (slightly used can be okay if it was just a look at the cards and not much else), because the energy of the reader combined with the distaste/disrespect for the cards may come through in a reading.

The two slightly used card decks I received (one was a bonus to buying a book so it didn’t matter) both have energies and smells that do not allow me to use them for reading purposes.

So if you are empathic or clairsentient, like myself, avoid buying used cards. Having said that, I did buy a “like new, slightly used” deck and the energy is perfect in them. I suspect they didn’t really use them OR respected the cards. This was a knowledge based choice that allowed me to use my intuitive skills to choose the “right” used deck. 🙂 (my psychic abilities are not turned on 24/7 and I try not to run my life based on them either but sometimes it’s useful!! *grin*)

On-Demand Readings

Tuesday, March 7th, 2006

Recently I have had a rash of on-demand readings.  I do NOT do on-demand readings unless I’m logged onto a system.

The reasons I don’t do on-demand readings are as follows:

1. I pray and meditate on your issue before doing your reading. I basically place myself in a frame of mind that allows me to connect to your concern and I ultra focus. When I log into a system I still pray and meditate before the reading set but I don’t do it for every contact as I receive request after request to do a reading — literally it’s non-stop!! You would think I would always want to do this but a) it’s exhausting and b) it’s impersonal. It’s not my cup of tea!
2. I have a busy full-time practice and I’m not tied to the phone, reading equipment, or computer at all hours. So payment NEEDS to be made before we even set your appointment. Even if we set it, it’s “tentative” until I receive payment and I don’t put it in my calendar because it’s not set. If I get another request before I receive payment, the date may no longer be available.

I’m not going to rip you off but I have had seekers rip me off. If you pay by Paypal and I don’t end up reading for you, you can get a refund but I have “NEVER” had this happen!! So lets just do the “right” thing and pay before you book your appointment. It’s one thing to ask questions about the service I provide and when I might be able to provide it, it’s another for me to have to constantly check to see if a payment has been made and then to read “on-demand” — I have other things I am doing and the payment may not end up showing anyway.
3. On demand readings are of a lesser quality. You may not notice as questioner but you may not of had a reading like mine before. It’s all relative. Do yourself a favour and wait for a good time to do the reading. I often book 2 weeks in advance and yes, you DO want a reader that is actually busy. That’s a GOOD sign! 😉

Unique Word Tarot Reading System

I like this because I like knowledge, productivity, originality, efficiency (the green side of me). However passion, professionalism, quality, authenticity, and being people-focused (the blue side of me) doesn’t seem to be as present in the cards. The seem fun though and easy to use.

I like this deck but it’s liable to appeal mainly to green, “thinking”, left brained type people. The blue, “heart”, right brained type people generally prefer pictures. 🙂

I will probably buy this down the road (if it’s still available) because it appeals to me; however, I know that pictures speak a thousand words and this particular set-up is more like an oracle than what Tarot and visuals can do for a reader.

This pack is best kept for non-professional sessions. 🙂
