While many pagans are drawn to Tarot and there are decsk of pagan imagery and symbols, Tarot has roots extending from many directions.
Lets look at these roots:
Kabbalah, or Qabalah which focuses on the Tree of Life and Tarot.
Numerology and the Pythagorean theorem which focuses on the numbers of each Tarot card
Astrology which focuses on the planets, elements, etc that’s attached to each Tarot card
Then we have chrisitan, occult, paganism, mythical, pop, magikal, time periods like medieval and renaissance, fantasy, and a whole bunch of other “slants” to the same story of “78 Degrees of Wisdom”.
The Tarot is a collection of cards that form a story from life to death and rebirth (if you believe) — an allegory. (Major Arcana) It also includes the activities, events, emotions, and stressors that come our way every day (Minor Arcana).
The Tarot can be used for so many purposes, not just divination. It can be used for self-discovery, meditation, brainstorming, or learning an esoteric system.
