I like this because I like knowledge, productivity, originality, efficiency (the green side of me). However passion, professionalism, quality, authenticity, and being people-focused (the blue side of me) doesn’t seem to be as present in the cards. The seem fun though and easy to use.
I like this deck but it’s liable to appeal mainly to green, “thinking”, left brained type people. The blue, “heart”, right brained type people generally prefer pictures. 🙂
I will probably buy this down the road (if it’s still available) because it appeals to me; however, I know that pictures speak a thousand words and this particular set-up is more like an oracle than what Tarot and visuals can do for a reader.
This pack is best kept for non-professional sessions. 🙂
Hi Abella. I had bought two decks of oracle cards by Doreen Virtue. I’m not inclined to
read for others, but hope that they will at least benifit me. My question is how are
oracle cards different from tarot. And why would the deck you mentioned better be used
non-professionally. I’m from Fresno, Ca. Hi! I see from the “heart” I suppose. I suppose
being more on the creative side. So I like the cards I have, but it would be nice to
get more from reading. Any help?
Blessings to Abella.
Well hello there in Fresno, Ca! It’s not often people leave comments. *grin*
The Angel cards are next on my list of purchases. I swear I only do this professionally so I can buy oracles, Tarot, divination tools, books, etc. etc. Just ten minutes ago I was on the Amazon site wondering what my next purchase will be and I have 5 orders waiting to be delivered! lol I believe it makes for better readings and working with a larger number of different people and queries.
Anyway, I digress… 🙂
My intended meaning of Oracles as they are used commonly, is thus: Oracles tend to be very self-explanatory and usually have a fixed “meaning” whereas Tarot allows for a much broader sweep of the intuitive brush. An oracle usually focuses on the text aspect (a fixed response) instead of the picture aspect (like Tarot does). And although you will find many books professing the meaning of each card, the cards are rich in symbolism that can be interpreted visually and uniquely by each viewer. I hope that makes sense.
What would you like to know more about? I have a ton of special decks that I don’t plan on reviewing or will play on reviewing if they go out of print! lol… 🙂 I will see. Oh, I will probably share — it’s a bad habit of mine.
So was there anything “specific” you wanted to know about how to read the cards better?
Thanks Abella. I’m not used to making comments(sheepish grin)
I’m shy, but I’ve really taken to the angel cards, and mermaid
cards. I’ve somewhat medium qualties and I’m really trying to
expand them. And I think using the cards has helped me to “hear”
my angel friends better. I set a time to do it and I wondered
about the set up. In Virtues book she has the first card as the
past, second as the present, and third as the future card and
they all go in three month sequences. What I find is that they
come to me as much quicker than three months and more like
the day’s state of mind. Like the cards Retreat(past)Study
(present)and Playtime(future). I find they come to pass as
quickly as I am using the cards. Does that make sense?
I look forward to getting my set in. The past, present, future spread seems to be traditional Tarot and I “get” the 3 month time difference in between; however, I tend to use psychic abilities to figure out timeframes. I think she’s suggesting timeframes because when one is just starting out, one likes a “foundation” and answers given to them. But when one has reached a certain point, one flys like a bird and accepts and understands “information” from a higher source.
“I find they come to pass as quickly as I am using the cards. Does that make sense?”
Not sure. 🙂
oh, and as far as mediumship… are you referring to seeing people who have passed or being able to accept and deliver messages from a higher source? I’m currently the latter. 🙂
the latter. I can also draw faces of spirits, but that’s a work in progress. I discovered that I could communicate when I was young, but was unable to deal with it until actually this year. I’m twenty five and I wasn’t able to accept being pshycic because of deep Christian roots in the idea that anything to do with spirits is not from God and there for evil in essence. Sad but true. But I’ve worked around that and I am learning lots. I don’t “see” spirits, it’s an impression.
Oh and I understood what you said about the cards. Thanks Abella.
