Prediction date: July 22. 2005
Political
A big shakeup will occur in the next election. More defections to other parties will continue. For example, some Conservatives and Liberals will leave to the Green party. The Green party will also be part of the debate in the next election. Another minority government will occur with the Liberals in leadership as there are no better alternative options. Each party (Conservatives, Liberals, NDP, Bloc Quebecois, and potentially Green Party) will gain about the same number of seats spreading party power out even more than they already are. New independents will start to sprout up and become more visible in Ottawa.
Update: 2/20/06
Green party=wishful thinking. Since I started recording predictions, I noticed a trend — sometimes my predictions were “wishful thinking” or “beyond years”.
Link in regards to “more defections“.
Canadian Economy
More people will seek out financial help through the government but the government will not help. There will be quite a lot of new businesses starting but many will fail in the first year because they don’t have the skills or talent to succeed (that part is generally a “no-brainer” but people, in the future, will get a better understanding of what this means) People who have worked hard for many years willl now take time out to enjoy life more, so the hospitality and tourism industry will flourish. However given the fear of terrorist attacks vacationing and leisure activities will be domestic and local to where one works (closer to home).
[…] Related Entry The Liberals have 133 seats, followed by the Conservatives with 98, the Bloc Québécois with 53 and the NDP with 18. There are four seats held by Independents and two are vacant. […]
